Blocking out the critics is nothing new for Miami Hurricanes quarterback Jacory Harris.
He's done it throughout his career, and this week was no different. Harris said he ignored all the criticism he received after throwing two interceptions last week against Ohio State. Harris was under fire despite leading the Hurricanes to a 24-6 victory and tossing two touchdowns.
"I really don't care about outside, as long as within this program they still believe in me, trust in me,"
Harris said.
UM coach Al Golden came to the defense of his quarterback, saying Harris played solid in his first game of the season. He missed the season-opener for violating NCAA rules.
Harris said it's a matter of correcting mistakes. One of the interceptions was a result of the receiver running the wrong route, according to Golden.
"I know those are things that can be corrected,"
Harris said. "If I just do what I'm told then they won't be there."
• Golden said he expects running back Lamar Miller to get at least 25 touches against Kansas State.
• Kansas State coach Bill Snyder said the biggest difficulty was simulating Miami's speed in practice. He said, "Not saying that everybody we have is left-footed, but we still do not possess that kind of speed."
