Junior quarterback Jacory Harris will be starting in Friday’s Sun Bowl for the University of Miami.
Harris started the first eight games this season before a concussion sidelined him. Interim head coach Jeff Stoutland made the decision on Thursday.
Harris has completed 144-of-263 attempts for 1,756 yards with 14 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
Freshman Stephen Morris, who played in five games and started Miami’s past four games, suffered a left ankle injury in practice on Tuesday at El Paso’s Burges High School. Morris completed 60-of-120 attempts this year for 958 yards, five touchdowns and eight interceptions.
Morris is under continued evaluation but is expected to be available for the game.
Miami will take on Notre Dame at 2 p.m. Friday at Sun Bowl Stadium. The game will be televised live on CBS.
