University of Miami senior linebacker Sean Spence and junior offensive lineman Brandon Washington are among the top 100 players in college football, according to Rivals.com's preseason countdown.
Washington was No. 85 and Spence came in this week at No. 59. Spence was the second-leading tackler in the ACC last season, recording 111 total tackles. He was the team's defensive MVP.
Also, Miami has renamed its weight room the Mark & Jason Squillante Strength and Conditioning Center.
UCF's Nall, Robinson earn preseason honors
Senior Darius Nall and junior Josh Robinson both earned preseason honors this past week by the College Football Performance Awards.
Nall was selected to the 2011 Defensive Lineman Trophy Watch list. While he was not a starter last season, he tied Bruce Miller for the team leader in sacks with 8.5 last season for the Knights. He was also named to the All-Conference USA second team last season.
Robinson was named to the Defensive Back Trophy Watch list, his second honor. Robinson was also received a spot on the punt returner list last week.
The Sunrise junior had 59 tackles as a sophomore and two interceptions. He was named to the All-Conference USA first team.
