Hurricanes coach Al Golden brushed off a question Tuesday regarding a report which had his agent saying Miami had made overtures about adjusting his contract in hopes of keeping him in the wake of the NCAA scandal.
Wednesday, he addressed the matter.
"We love it here in Miami. My wife kids and I, my staff loves it here,"
Golden said. "We've got incredible support from the president and our AD Shawn Eichorst and we're certain that support will continue in a number of ways moving forward."
Asked if he needed to clarify things with recruits, Golden said, "For me, it was tough for me because when I was asked the question yesterday I really didn't understand the context of it, had no idea about the story or what was purportedly said.
"I had a chance to speak with my attorney and expressed my displeasure. I'll say it again: I love it here. ... I don't think it's something I have to address too long."
"Since I've been here I've been committed to turning Miami around and implementing a process, structure and culture that will endure. We're just out of the blocks, out of the gates, and I wish these things would go away. We don't need any distractions."
